Warranty

This Limited Warranty, provided by Pergomatic, covers defects in material and craftsmanship in new Pergomatic products. This warranty is designed to extend to the original purchaser and is transferable to subsequent owners under the procedures specified herein. Coverage is applicable only to Pergomatic products purchased from Pergomatic or authorized Pergomatic dealers. This warranty is governed by the limitations, exclusions, and conditions outlined in this Warranty Certificate.

Warranty Periods

  • Structural Elements: The components such as louvers, beams, gutters, and posts are covered by a warranty for a duration of fifteen (15) years following the installation date. This guarantee specifically addresses defects in materials or craftsmanship under conditions of standard usage and maintenance.
  • Electrostatic Powder Coating: The coating on the aluminum panels and all structural supports is guaranteed not to chip, peel, or blister for fifteen (15) years from the installation date under conditions of typical wear. This warranty from Pergomatic adheres to the restrictions or exclusions stipulated by the paint manufacturer’s own warranty and is valid under ordinary outdoor environmental conditions. Coverage is exclusively for defects in materials or craftsmanship with the expectation of normal usage and maintenance. However, in environments with high acidity, such as ports, seaside areas, or places with chemical vapors that can hasten the degradation of the powder coating, the warranty period is
adjusted to 10 years.
  • Electrical Components: All control units are covered under warranty for 2 years, motors for 5 years, and LED elements, cables, and lighting panels for 2 years from the date of installation. These warranties specifically address defects in materials or workmanship under conditions of standard use and service.
  • Fabric Components: Pergomatic provides a 5-year warranty from the date of installation on all fabric elements. This warranty ensures coverage against defects in materials and craftsmanship, assuming the fabric is used and maintained under normal conditions.

Warranty Exclusions

The Pergomatic Warranty explicitly does not cover conditions, malfunctions, or damage that do not stem from defects in material or workmanship. This includes damage resulting from normal wear and tear, improper installation by client, inadequate maintenance, misuse, abuse, negligence, accidents,
or alterations. Accessories, connected materials, and products, or related items not manufactured or supplied by Pergomatic are also not covered under this warranty.

Furthermore, the warranty does not protect against normal weathering, chalking, fading, or damage from corrosive atmospheres contaminated with chemical fumes or salt, including acts of God, natural disasters, explosions, or any other circumstances beyond Pergomatic’s control. The warranty does
not guarantee that the products will be weather-tight or that they can withstand aggressive environmental conditions, such as black streaking on beams and louvers.

Owners are required to follow the Care and Cleaning Instructions provided to prevent warranty voidance. Additionally, in preparation for any named storm or weather event, louvers must be positioned to a 90-degree ‘open’ state, retractable roofs fully opened, and zip screens rolled up to mitigate excessive force on the structure. Failure to comply with these precautions may result in the voidance of the warranty.

In the case of product discontinuation, Pergomatic reserves the right to substitute the products with those of comparable functionality, quality, or price, ensuring our customers continue to receive the high standard of Pergomatic excellence they expect.

Warranty Claim Process

To initiate a warranty claim for your Pergomatic product, the claim must be filed through an authorized Pergomatic dealer. All claims should be reported to Pergomatic within 30 days upon identification of a potential defect. Required documentation includes the installation date, the location where the product was installed, and a copy of the purchase invoice of the defective item.

It is crucial that Pergomatic is granted a fair chance to review the claim before any repair work is started. Undertaking repairs without prior inspection by Pergomatic may invalidate the warranty.

Following Pergomatic’s inspection, we will have up to 120 days to provide a suitable solution, which may involve repairing or replacing the faulty product(s) as detailed below:

In the first year following installation, Pergomatic reserves the right to either repair or replace the defective product at no additional cost to the customer.
From the second year up to the fifteenth year, depending on the specific warranty duration for the defective component, Pergomatic may choose to repair or replace it. However, in these cases, the customer will be responsible for the shipping fees and all associated costs for the removal and reinstallation of the part.

Under no circumstances will Pergomatic’s liability exceed the original purchase price of the product, including installation.

Care and Maintenance Instruction

Maintaining your Pergomatic system is straightforward and ensures its longevity and beauty. To ensure your pergola remains in pristine condition, we recommend adhering to these care and cleaning guidelines:

Begin with a Gentle Rinse: A simple way to maintain your louvered roof is by using a garden hose coupled with a soft brush or cloth and clean water. Start from the top and gently rinse downwards.
This approach should remove the majority of surface dirt and grime effectively.

Proceed to Manual Cleaning: If some dirt remains after rinsing, prepare a mild cleaning solution with warm water and a gentle detergent, like dish soap or a multi-surface cleaner. Employ a soft-bristled brush or a soft cloth to carefully clean the surface, working from the top down. After washing a section, rinse thoroughly before moving to the next. For persistent stains, consider the next step.

Addressing Mold and Mildew: Should you encounter mold or mildew stains, a mixture of one part bleach to four parts water can be used. Apply this solution directly to the stains.

It’s crucial to follow these cleaning steps to preserve the appearance and integrity of your pergola. We strongly advise against the use of abrasive cleaners, scrubbing compounds, or high-pressure washers, as these can damage the structure.

Please avoid using: Acids such as acetic, oxalic, or phosphoric in concentrations higher than 0.5%. Avoid all concentrations of hydrochloric and sulfuric acid. Highly alkaline or aqueous cleaning agents. By adhering to these simple care instructions, you can enjoy a clean and inviting outdoor space with your Pergomatic system for years to come.
